Liverpool star Mohamed Salah broke yet another record on Saturday, as the Egyptian became the fastest player in Reds history to score 100 top flight goals when he bagged in the 3-3 draw with Brentford.

It took the former Chelsea man just 151 matches to reach the milestone for Jurgen Klopp’s side, and he followed that up with a brace in Liverpool’s 5-1 victory over Porto in the Champions League on Tuesday evening.

Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino both also scored during the win in Portugal, making it the first time that all three players have scored during the same game since a 7-0 victory over Crystal Palace in December last year.

Despite having his front three firing once again, it appears that Klopp is still keen on bolstering his attacking options, with one Premier League winger in particular firmly on his radar.

According to Italian outlet Calciomercato, the Reds are chasing Newcastle United winger Allan Saint-Maximin.

Saint-Maximin scored the equaliser in Newcastle’s draws with both Southampton and Leeds United

The electric winger has impressed so far this term, scoring twice and providing three assists for the Magpies.

Steve Bruce’s side were reported to have received an approach of around £40 million for the player over the summer from Everton, but a move never materialised.

The report also suggests that Chelsea are keen on the player, and are considering a move in the future.

It is believed that, while Newcastle are believed to be adamant that the player will not be sold in January, those in the 24-year-old’s camp are believed to be confident that he can seal a move to either Chelsea, Liverpool or Everton.

Newcastle are yet to win a game this season, and Bruce will likely be relying on Saint-Maximin staying fit if they are to steer clear of the drop zone.

Liverpool sold Xherdan Shaqiri over the summer and didn’t replace him, so the Frenchman could be a suitable replacement for the Swiss international.

Chelsea, meanwhile, have already been without both Cristian Pulisic and Hakim Ziyech due to injury at different points in the early weeks of the season, and could therefore be keen on sourcing another attacking option.
