Chelsea will hope to put their 5-0 thrashing against Arsenal behind them when they face Aston Villa on Saturday evening.

The Blues were humbled by their London rivals on Tuesday evening, with their former striker Kai Havertz netting twice for the Gunners in an emphatic victory that kept alive their Premier League title hopes.

Manager Mauricio Pochettino will be desperate to see his side show a response to the defeat when they travel to Villa Park, but the Villans have been in good form of late and will provide a stern test.

This summer could be another busy one at Stamford Bridge, with several incomings and outgoings expected.

According to a report from France, though, the Blues have been scouting a Bundesliga star.

Lukeba has impressed for Leipzig this season

As per FootMercato via 90min, both Chelsea and Manchester United are interested in RB Leipzig defender Castello Lukeba.

The report claims that the Red Devils have been monitoring the centre-back for some time, while Chelsea have shown interest more recently.

Lukeba, 21, joined Leipzig from French side Lyon last summer for a fee in the region of £29 million, and the Frenchman has impressed during his debut season in Germany.

In total he has made 37 appearances across all competitions this term, including 28 Bundesliga matches and seven of their eight Champions League games.

The France under-23 international has a £60 million release clause in his current contract, although that doesn’t become active until next summer.

Both the Blues and United could be in need of defensive reinforcements this summer, with Thiago Silva set to depart Stamford Bridge and Raphael Varane’s future at Old Trafford extremely uncertain.

With that in mind, Lukeba is of interest to both clubs and Leipzig could face a battle to keep hold of the player beyond this summer.
