Chelsea and Manchester United in three-way tie for Santos star Thiago Maia

Chelsea and Manchester United are both reportedly interested in signing Brazil Under-23 international starlet Thiago Maia, according to The Sun.

The Premier League duo, who currently sit first and sixth in the English top-flight standings, have been linked with the Santos star ahead of the 2017-18 campaign.

The 20-year-old, who starred for his country as Brazil won Olympic football gold at the 2016 Rio Games, has scored one goal in three Libertadores appearances this season.

However central midfielder Maia, who will setback any potential suitor at least £16m, is also attracting interest from Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain.

The report suggests the trio of clubs could spark a bidding war for the Samba star this summer, who is highly thought of and regarded as one of the brightest prospects in South America.

Antonio Conte’s Blues have already wrapped up the 2016-17 Premier League title following last Friday’s 1-0 hard fought victory at West Bromwich Albion, before thrillingly winning 4-3 against Watford at Stamford Bridge on Monday night.
