Chelsea have reportedly joined Manchester United in the chase to sign Ivory Coast international defender Serge Aurier this summer, according to the Daily Mail.

The Premier League champions, who lost to Arsenal on penalties during Sunday’s FA Community Shield at Wembley Stadium, have been linked with luring the Paris Saint-Germain right-back to Stamford Bridge ahead of their 2017-18 title defence.

The 24-year-old, who has 39 international caps for his country, provided five assists in 32 appearances in all competitions for the Ligue 1 giants last season.

Aurier, who arrived at the Parc des Princes back in July 2014 from fellow French side Toulouse, has netted five times in 81 games for PSG overall, lifting two league titles, three French Cups and three French League Cups.

The report suggests Blues boss Antonio Conte is keen to strengthen his squad ahead of the close of the summer transfer window, and his attention has switched to landing Manchester United target Aurier, who is understood to be available for around £27m.
