Chelsea are back in action on Saturday afternoon when they rivals West Ham United in what promises to be a feisty London derby at The London Stadium.

The Blues have been impressive on the road in the Premier League so far this term – beating Wolves and Bournemouth by scorelines of 6-2 and 1-0 respectively – and head coach Enzo Maresca will hope to see a similar performance against the Hammers.

The West London outfit were once again busy during the recent summer transfer window, but several of their new arrivals have taken little time in getting up to speed under Maresca.

Jadon Sancho – a deadline day loan signing from rivals Manchester United – provided the assist for Christopher Nkunku’s late winner against the Cherries last time out, after making his debut as a second-half substitute.

Despite the arrival of several attackers over the summer, it appears that the Blues are still keen to sign one of Europe’s most in-form forwards.

As per CaughtOffside, both Chelsea and rivals Tottenham Hotspur are interested in Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres.

Gyokeres is likely to leave Sporting next summer

The Swede has been one of Europe’s most prolific goal scorers since swapping Coventry City for Portugal last summer, netting a remarkable 52 goals in 57 games.

He has started the new campaign in sensational form, netting his ninth goal of the season already wen he opened the scoring against Lille in the Champions League on Tuesday.

The report claims that both London sides are interested in the 26-year-old, who is said to be likely to leave Sporting next year.

The Sweden international has been pursued by several clubs for a while now, although a summer move didn’t materialise this year due to his relatively high release clause – which Sporting demanded was met.

As well as the Blues and the Lilywhites, it is also claimed that French champions Paris Saint-Germain are another club with a serious interest in Gyokeres.

Tottenham are said to be the most interested party at present, while Chelsea are still monitoring Viktor Osimhen, who is currently on loan at Turkish side Galatasaray from Napoli.
