Despite bringing in both David Luiz and Marcos Alonso in the dying days of the summer window, Chelsea boss Antonio Conte still appears keen to add more steel to his back line.

According to reports from Spanish publication, El Desmarque, the Blues boss is keen on signing Athletic Bilbao right-back, Oscar de Marcos and the club have made contact with the Spaniard via an intermediary.

As per the report the Chelsea hierarchy contacted the 27-year-old’s father around 10 days ago in order to open discussions about a move.

The South London club are keen to land their man on a four-year-deal and have offered to double his wages, however, it is understood that the for Spain youth international has snubbed them in order to stay with the Basque club.

Bilbao have a strict policy when it comes to the sale of players, both the club and player must agree when it comes to the move otherwise nothing happens, so this could be a tough one for the former Juventus boss.
