Manchester United will be hoping to build on their 4-1 win over Real Betis when they face Southampton in the Premier League on Sunday.

The Red Devils – who were beaten 7-0 by rivals Liverpool in their last league fixture – cruised to a Europa League last 16 victory against their Spanish opponents with Marcus Rashford, Antony, Bruno Fernandes and Wout Weghorst on the scoresheet.

They now face a Saints side that currently sit in 19th place in the Premier League table, having lost ten of their last 13 league games.

While United boss Erik ten Hag will be looking for an impressive performance from his side, the game against The Saints could also provide the Dutchman with an opportunity to see one of his targets in action.

According to Football Insider, United are one of three Premier League sides interested in Southampton midfielder Romeo Lavia.

The report claims that United, Arsenal and Chelsea are all interested in the 19-year-old, who has only been with Southampton since last summer.

Lavia joined the south coast club from Manchester City last summer, and has since impressed during his debut season with the Saints.

Lavia is set to be the subject of interest from several clubs this summer

The teenager has made 22 appearances across all competitions, and he will reportedly be in ‘huge demand’ this summer.

It had previously been suggested that Manchester City were leading the race to sign Lavia, as The Citizens have the option to buy the midfielder back.

Lavia is reportedly keen to stay in the Premier League beyond this summer regardless of whether or not Southampton survive this term.

It is claimed that Lavia isn’t the top target for any of the interested clubs, but the Belgium under-21 international could be a good alternative if the likes of Jude Bellingham, Declan Rice and Moises Caicedo aren’t available.

Lavia made two senior appearances during his time with City, but was a regular for the club’s youth sides.
