Chelsea have had a £28m offer for midfielder Franck Kessie turned down by Atalanta reports The Sun.

Now Roma have emerged as favourites to secure the 20 year-old.

The rising starlet has attracted the attention of Liverpool, Manchester United, Manchester City and Arsenal, says the player’s agent George Atangana.

Back in December, he said: “We have a lot of interest from the Premier League – Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United, Manchester City and Arsenal.

“I cannot say at this stage how much he will cost but we are talking about one of the best young players in the world.”

However, it appears that Roma have pipped their rivals to sign the 20 year-old. Kessie is likely to spend the rest of the season with Atalanta, before joining the Italian giants in the summer.

The box to box midfielder dubbed the ‘next Yaya Toure’ is in his debut Serie A season. He’s provided seven goals and two assists in 17 competitive games since joining Atalanta in 2015.
