Chelsea’s season went from bad to worse on Saturday as they were beaten 2-0 by Aston Villa at Stamford Bridge.

Following a disastrous run of results over the past six months, The Blues looked to have turned things around when they won three consecutive games across all competitions at the start of March.

Graham Potter’s side have now failed to win in their last two, though, with a draw at home to Everton prior to the international break followed up with the defeat to Villa.

It appears that Potter will not be sacked prior to Chelsea’s next game, though, despite The Blues currently occupying 11th place in the Premier League table.

According to Football Insider, those in charge of the west London club have decided that Potter won’t be sacked before Liverpool visit Stamford Bridge on Tuesday evening.

The report claims that the Englishman is now one game away from being sacked, suggesting that he would be dismissed if his side lose to The Reds next time out.

Owner Todd Boehly has so far remained adamant that Potter is the man to spearhead Chelsea’s project, but it is claimed that the club are now considering alternatives.

Since taking charge of the club in September, Potter has overseen just 12 wins from 31 matches across all competitions, losing 11.

Potter’s tenure at the club started well as his side went nine games unbeaten across all competitions following his appointment.

Sparked by a 4-1 defeat to former club Brighton and Hove Albion, though, Potter’s side went on a dismal run, winning just three of 17 matches until a 1-0 win over Leeds United at the start of March.

Chelsea have been linked with a number of managers as potential successors to Potter if he is sacked, including Mauricio Pochettino, Julian Nagelsmann and Zinedine Zidane.
