Chelsea face another tough test on Saturday when they host Brighton and Hove Albion in the Premier League.

Enzo Maresca’s side have enjoyed a relatively positive start to the new season and were 5-0 victors over League Two side Barrow in the third round of the Carabao Cup last time out.

The Seagulls will provide a stern test for the Blues, with Fabian Hurzeler’s side unbeaten after five games of the new league campaign.

In the meantime, it appears that Chelsea are still chasing one of Europe’s most prolific strikers.

As per Football Insider, the West London side are working in the background to finalise a deal for Napoli striker Victor Osimhen.

The Nigeria international has scored a remarkable 76 goals in 133 games since joining from French side Lille, although he has been sent on loan to Turkish side Galatasaray after failing to secure a big European move this summer.

Osimhen remains a target for Chelsea

Since moving to Turkey, Osimhen has provided an impressive four assists in three games for the club.

It is claimed that there is a ‘real possibility’ that Chelsea will finally complete a move for the striker, having been linked with the player for several months now.

Osimhen was said to be of interest to several European clubs throughout this summer but, after a move failed to materialise, he joined Turkish side Galatasaray on loan for the remainder of the campaign.

The deal that took him to Turkey includes a break clause, though, and Chelsea could therefore agree a deal to sign the Nigerian striker when the transfer window reopens in January.

Osimhen’s current c0ntract with Napoli is set to expire at the end of next season, and the report claims that Chelsea are hoping to sign the forward for a fee of around £40 million.
