Chelsea close in on signing of former AC Milan goalkeeper

Chelsea are reportedly closing in on the signing of former AC Milan goalkeeper Marco Amelia.

Following the injury suffered by Thibaut Courtois, Blues boss Jose Mourinho has been looking for some experienced cover for Asmir Begovic, and is set to bring the free agent to Stamford Bridge.

The 33-year-old has been without a club since leaving Perugia in the summer, but now looks set to make a move to England.

Amelia made 41 appearances in all competitions for Milan during four seasons at the San Siro, and has been capped nine times by Italy.
