Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca is set to make a number of changes to his side for their FIFA Club World Cup last 16 tie against Benfica on Saturday night.

The Italian rotated his squad for their final group game and watched on as a much-changed 11 cruised to a 3-0 victory over ES Tunis, booking their place in the knockout stages of the competition.

The likes of Cole Palmer, Levi Colwill and Moises Caicedo are all likely to return to the Blues’ starting XI for their match against Benfica, who defeated German champions Bayern Munich in their final group stage game.

New signing Liam Delap netted his first goal for Chelsea against ES Tunis, and the ex-Ipswich Town man could once again lead the line on Saturday.

Away from the action, though, it appears that the West London outfit are closing in on another summer signing.

According to Ben Jacobs, Chelsea are close to finalising the signing of winger Jamie Gittens from German side Borussia Dortmund.

The journalist claims that the Englishman is waiting on approval from his current side to undergo a medical ahead of the proposed move, having already agreed a seven-year contract with the Premier League side.

Gittens, 20, joined Dortmund as a free agent in 2020 having previously spent time with both Chelsea and Manchester City’s academies.

Since moving to Germany, the Englishman has scored 17 goals and registered 14 assists in 107 games for Dortmund across all competitions.

Jacobs claims that Chelsea are now in advanced talks over the potential move, with the final details in relation to the structure of the deal being worked on.

Discussions are said to be moving quickly,  and it appears that Gittens will move to Stamford Bridge this summer.
