Chelsea have completed the signing of winger Pedro Neto from Wolves.

The Blues announced on Sunday that the Portugal international had joined the club, before unveiling him during their pre-season friendly against Italian champions Inter Milan.

Neto, 24, has signed a seven-year-contract with the West London outfit, and will begin training with his new teammates in the coming days.

The Portuguese joined Wolves from Italian outfit Lazio back in 2019 and went on to make more than 130 appearances for the club across all competitions, scoring 14 goals and providing 24 assists.

He impressed for Gary O’Neil’s side last term, providing nine assists in 20 Premier League matches.

Neto has become Chelsea’s ninth signing of the summer so far

That impressive form attracted interest from Chelsea, and the London side have now made Neto their ninth signing of the summer transfer window so far, with Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Tosin Adarabioyo and Marc Guiu among those to have already joined the Blues.

Neto has also been capped ten times by his country at senior level, and was part of Roberto Martinez’ squad for the European Championships earlier this summer.

Next term the winger, who can operate on either flank, will be vying with the likes of Noni Madueke, Mykhaylo Mudryk and Raheem Sterling for a starting spot in Enzo Maresca’s side.

He is also capable of playing as a striker or in an attacking midfield role.
