Amid transfer links with Leicester City themselves, Tammy Abraham didn’t even make the squad as his side succumbed to a 1-0 defeat against the Foxes at Wembley in the FA Cup final on Saturday.

According to the Leicester Mercury, the FA Cup winners are among Aston Villa and West Ham linked to a £40m move for the forward who has been frozen out since Thomas Tuchel’s arrival at the Blues.

Abraham scored four goals in three matches to get Chelsea to the final but wasn’t trusted with the big game, despite his side going on to draw a blank.

His partner Leah Monroe took to Instagram to blast the decision, saying: “How on Earth do you make the decision to leave your top goalscorer out of the squad for a final?!

“The same person who even scored the goals to actually qualify for this competition?

Tammy Abraham has played just 17 minutes of Premier League football since the end of February

“It’s not making any sense to me whatsoever. Not even the bench?! This has to be a joke.”

The post has since been deleted but, clearly, she has a point. Abraham was a key member of the squad for Chelsea when Frank Lampard was in charge but has since dropped down the pecking order with the likes of Kai Havertz operating as a striker too.

Abraham has scored 30 goals in 82 Chelsea matches, in all competitions, and at just 23 years old has a bright future yet to come.

The Mercury report also details that Leicester are looking to sign another option as cover and competition for Jamie Vardy and Kelechi Ihdeanacho – and have been linked with Celtic’s Odsonne Edouard.

Would Abraham be quality cover for any Premier League side that took him?
