Chelsea were held to a draw by Borussia Dortmund in their final pre-season fixture on Thursday.

Mason Burstow’s 89th-minute equaliser cancelled out Marius Wolf’s opener at the Soldier Field Stadium in the USA, ensuring that the Blues finish their pre-season schedule unbeaten.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side now turn their attention to their opening Premier League match against Liverpool at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

The West Londoners have undergone a huge clear-out this summer after an abysmal campaign last season, which saw them finish in 12th place in the Premier League.

Despite several outgoings in this window, the Blues have still brought in players like Cristopher Nkunku, Nicolas Jackson, Robert Sanchez and Axel Disasi.

However, Chelsea still seem eager to bolster their midfield as they have been locked in talks with Brighton for Moises Caicedo for some time now.

Now it seems that the Blues are also considering other midfield targets as the transfer deadline looms.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea are considering signing Leeds United midfielder Tyler Adams.

Chelsea consider Tyler Adams as a potential midfielder target, especially with his relegation clause.

Romano claims that Pochettino’s side are in contact with Adams’ camp to be kept informed on the conditions of his current deal.

The American joined the Whites last season from RB Leipzig and made 24 appearances in the Premier League during his first term in England.

Before joining Leeds, Adams appeared in 65 Bundesliga matches across three seasons for his former side.

The 24-year-old has been linked with a move away from Elland Road this summer following their relegation to the Championship, though, and Chelsea are said to be one of a number of clubs eager to take advantage of a £20 million release clause in his current contract.

Despite the clause becoming active following Leeds’ relegation to the second tier, Adams is contracted to the club until 2027.

The Whites would be keen to keep the American this season as he is set to play a crucial role as they look to bounce back to the top flight.

However, Adams could provide some quality and depth to Pochettino’s side if they do decide to pursue the player.
