With the transfer window now well and truly open, Chelsea are once again among the busiest Premier League clubs in the market.

The Blues, who announced the signing of Omari Kellyman from Aston Villa on Saturday, have spent more than £1 billion on new signings since Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital purchased the club in 2022.

Those in charge of the club are likely to continue spending in the coming weeks in an effort to shape Enzo Maresca’s squad for next term but, like most clubs, Chelsea may have to sell players too in order to adhere to the Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules.

Now, it appears that Chelsea are considering including one of their current attackers as part of a player-plus-cash swap deal.

According to The Sun, the West London club could include Nicolas Jackson as part of an offer for Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak.

The Blues are one of a number of clubs that are said to have shown interest in the Swede, who scored 25 goals in 40 games across all competitions for the Magpies last season.

Jackson enjoyed an impressive first season at Chelsea

It is claimed that Newcastle value Isak in excess of £100 million, and Chelsea have therefore considered including striker Jackson as part of the offer.

Jackson, 23, joined the Blues from Spanish side Villarreal last summer and made 44 appearances during his debut season at Stamford Bridge, scoring 17 goals and registering six assists.

He is contracted to Chelsea until 2031 and is regarded by those in charge of the club as an important player, but the report claims that he could be offered to Newcastle if a deal for Isak became possible.

Isak, 24, has also been linked with several other top European clubs including Arsenal.
