Chelsea have been linked with a January move for AC Milan defender, Mattio de Sciglio, and could use out-of-favour midfielder, Cesc Fabregas as part of the deal, according to reports from Calcio Mercato (via World Soccer).

The Spanish midfielder has seen his role at Stamford Bridge diminished somewhat since the arrival of former Italy boss, Antonio Conte, and is reportedly a target for Milan.

De Sciglio, who worked under Conte at this summer’s European Championships, has also been linked with a move to Liverpool as both sides look to bolster their defensive ranks ahead of what could be an enthralling and challenging second half to the season.

Fabregas, meanwhile, is yet to start for the Blues in the Premier League this season, with his name only being included in the starting XI for their two EFL Cup outings against Bristol Rovers and Leicester.

The 29-year-old has, time-and-again, reasserted his desire to stay at the Bridge and fight for a place in the side, however, a move to yet another prestigious club, with guaranteed first team football on offer, could turn his head.
