Chelsea return to Wembley to face Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final on Sunday.

The two sides met in both domestic cup finals in 2022, with the Reds victorious on both occasions after penalty shoot-outs.

Blues boss Mauricio Pochettino will be desperate to see his side emerge victorious this time around, and in turn lift his first trophy in English football.

Liverpool will go into the game as firm favourites, though, with manager Jurgen Klopp keen to lift another trophy before departing the club this summer.

In the meantime, it appears that Chelsea could sell one of their most expensive ever players this summer.

As per Football Insider, the future of winger Mykhaylo Mudryk is uncertain heading into the summer transfer window.

Mudryk has endured a difficult spell with Chelsea so far

The Ukraine international was signed by Chelsea from boyhood club Shakhtar Donetsk in January last year for an initial fee of £62 million, although that could rise to £88 million if certain conditions are met.

Since arriving in London, though, Mudryk has disappointed and has scored just four times in 42 appearances across all competitions.

The fee that Chelsea paid for Mudryk, 22, when he joined the club raised many eyebrows, especially considering that he had only played 44 times for Shakhtar at senior level.

When joining the London side, the Ukrainian signed a long-term deal that is set to run until 2031, but the report claims that Pochettino and his staff believe that the player ‘doesn’t have the footballing brain’ to thrive within his tactical setup.

It is claimed that the player is yet to convince his manager of his abilities and suitability, and those in charge of the club could therefore consider selling the player when the transfer window reopens this summer.

During the recent January window, the winger was the subject of interest from German champions Bayern Munich, but Chelsea opted agianst letting the player leave.
