Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea were back to winning ways in midweek, as they beat Porto 2-0 in the first leg of their Champions League quarter final tie.

The result showed a positive reaction to their previous game, a shock 5-2 defeat by West Bromwich Albion at Stamford Bridge; a result that ended Tuchel’s unbeaten start since joining the West Londoners.

Despite the positive result, which puts them in a commanding position having scored two away goals, the Blues’ problems were still clear for all to see, with their multi-million pound strike force still struggling in front of goal.

Timo Werner has still only scored twice this year having endured another baron night in front of goal, whilst Kai Havertz also struggled to make any notable mark on the game.

With the summer transfer window now just weeks away, it appears that Tuchel already has one eye on the market and could be lining up not one, but two strikers to join his side for next season.

According to 90min, Chelsea will pursue Erling Braut Haaland this summer, but will also go after Manchester City’s soon to be free agent Sergio Aguero.

Aguero will leave City after 10 years in the summer.

It has been widely reported in recent months that Haaland is wanted by the Blues, with owner Roman Abramovich believed to be a huge admirer of the Norway superstar.

However, it now appears that Aguero is also firmly on their radar, with the report suggesting that club officials have already held talks with the Argentine’s representatives.

Despite spending vast sums on attacking talent last summer, Chelsea are already back in the market for strikers with Olivier Giroud’s contract expiring and Tammy Abraham refusing to sign an extension.

The report claims that officials at the club believe that a lack of goals has cost them severely this term, and perceive the opportunity to sign the soon to be five-time Premier League winner on a free transfer as one which is too good to turn down.

With eight games still remaining, Chelsea’s league position may well have huge repercussions on whether or not the Blues can attract either Aguero or Haaland, with both likely to snub the club if they cannot secure Champions League qualification.
