Chelsea welcome London rivals West Ham United to Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon.

The Blues’ form has improved of late, most recently when they beat Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 to keep alive their hopes of qualifying for European football next term.

Manager Mauricio Pochettino has endured an inconsistent first season in charge of Chelsea, but the Argentine will be hoping to see his side finish the campaign strongly.

In the meantime, one of Pochettino’s players has reportedly agreed to join a new club next season.

As per Globo via 90min, veteran defender Thiago Silva has agreed to join Brazilian side Fluminense next season.

The 39-year-old’s current contract is set to expire at the end of this season, and he announced last week that he will depart Stamford Bridge.

Silva will leave Chelsea this summer after four years with the club

Now, the report claims that he has agreed to join Fluminense, with the Brazilian side waiting to announce the deal until after Chelsea’s season has ended.

Silva joined the Blues in 2020 after leaving French giants Paris Saint-Germain, and won the Champions League under Thomas Tuchel the following year.

In total he has made 151 appearances for the club across all competitions, including 109 in the Premier League.

This season the Brazil international has played 34 times, but he picked up an injury against Aston Villa last weekend and is now facing a race to be fit enough to play again this season.

After winning the Champions League, Silva also added the UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup to his trophy cabinet.

He was visibly emotional after Chelsea lost 1-0 to Manchester City in the FA Cup semi-final last month, ending his last hope of lifting a trophy this term.
