Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen could be on his way to Barcelona, according to The Guardian.
It is reported that the Catalan giants have tabled a formal bid and are on the hunt for a centre-back with Frenchman Samuel Umtiti still recovering from a knee injury.
After a number of names have been mentioned to potentially fill the void in the centre of Barca’s defence, Christensen has emerged as Ernesto Valverde’s first-choice target.
Having broken into the first-team fold last season under Antonio Conte, the 22-year-old has found opportunities few and far between this term, being limited to mainly League Cup and Europa League showings.
With Maurizio Sarri preferring the partnership of David Luiz and Antonio Rudiger, the Dane has made just one league appearance this term which came in a 2-1 away loss to Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Given his relatively young age, it could be considered as a wise move for the Brondby academy product to think carefully before heading to the current La Liga champions.
With no guarantee of game there is a danger that Christensen’s current role as a squad player could be replicated at the Camp Nou.
