Chelsea’s winless away run in the Premier League was extended to four games as they lost 3-1 against Manchester City on Saturday.

After Noni Madueke had put the visitors ahead at The Etihad, Josko Gvardiol drew the Citizens level prior to the break.

Second-half goals from Erling Haaland and Phil Foden then earned Pep Guardiola’s side victory, moving City above the Blues in the Premier League table.

Enzo Maresca’s side have won just one of their last seven games in the competition, and have slipped from second to sixth place since drawing 0-0 against Everton in December.

Off the pitch, though, one of Chelsea’s signings from last summer is set to depart the club already.

According to Fabrizio Romano, defender Renato Veiga is on his way to Turin to join Juventus on loan for the remainder of the season.

The journalist claims that the Portuguese will join the Old Lady on loan for the rest of the current campaign, however the deal won’t include an option or obligation-to-buy.

Veiga is set to spend the remainder of the season in Italy

Veiga, 21, will therefore return to Chelsea in June ahead of their participation in the FIFA Club World Cup.

He claims that the package will be worth around £4.2 million in total, with Veiga expected to feature in his preferred role as a central defender for Juventus.

The Portugal international joined Chelsea from Swiss side Basel last summer and has since played a bit-part role for the Blues.

In total he has made 18 appearances across all competitions, scoring twice, but he has started just one Premier League game and has primarily been used at left-back as opposed to in the centre of defence.

Romano claims that the player will undergo a medical at Juventus on Monday before finalising the move.
