Chelsea will hope to return to winning ways when they face Manchester United on Thursday evening.

The Blues struggled to a 2-2 draw against relegation-threatened Burnley at Stamford Bridge last time out, despite the Clarets only having ten men for more than an hour.

Manager Mauricio Pochettino will be desperate to see his side improve, with their chances of qualifying for any European competition next term hanging by a thread.

At present, the West London club sit 11th in the Premier League table, 19 points behind fourth-placed Aston Villa.

This summer could be a significant one for the Blues, but it appears that one of their central defenders will be staying put.

As per Fabrizio Romano, centre-back Benoit Badiashile is not currently expected to leave Stamford Bridge this summer.

Badiashile is expected to stay put at Chelsea beyond this summer

The Frenchman joined Chelsea from Ligue 1 side Monaco in January last year, but has failed to ever establish himself as a regular starter in the capital.

In total he has made just 24 appearances for the Blues across all competitions, and started only seven Premier League matches so far this term.

When joining the club, the France international signed a long-term contract that is set to run until the end of the 2029/30 season.

It is claimed that Chelsea rejected offers for Badiashile from unnamed Italian clubs during the recent January transfer window.

While Badiashile is set to stay put, Romano also claims that fellow central defender Trevoh Chalobah could leave the club.

The Italian journalist claims that the Blues are likely to allow the former academy star to depart when the transfer window reopens.

Chalobah has recently returned from a lengthy injury and has featured regularly in recent weeks, but looks increasingly likely to end his spell at the club this summer.
