A late Lesley Ugochukwu goal earned Chelsea a draw against Inter Milan in their final pre-season friendly on Sunday.

The Blues have endured a difficult summer so far and once again found themselves behind when Marcus Thuram scored for the Italian champions.

Enzo Maresca’s side looked to be heading for a fourth pre-season defeat until French midfielder Ugochukwu grabbed a winner in the final minute of normal time.

The Blues now face Premier League champions Manchester City on Sunday, less than two weeks after being beaten 4-2 by the Citizens in a friendly in the United States.

In the meantime, it appears that Chelsea are discussing a shock move for one of their former players.

As per Fabrizio Romano, the West London side are working to agree a deal to re-sign Joao Felix from Atletico Madrid.

The two clubs have been in discussions for much of the summer so far and have now agreed a deal for midfielder Conor Gallagher to join the La Liga side.

Chelsea were set to sign Atletico striker Samu Omorodion, but that deal has fallen through and Romano claims that those in charge of the club are now targeting Felix.

Felix could make a sensational return to Chelsea this summer

The Portugal international became the fourth most expensive player of all time when Atletico signed him for £113 million from benfica five years ago.

He joined Chelsea on loan in January last year, and was sent off on his debut against West London rivals Fulham.

Romano claims that those in charge of Chelsea were keen to sign him permanently last summer, and the player himself was also keen to stay put at Stamford Bridge.

Former manager Mauricio Pochettino didn’t agree, though, and the London side therefore decided against a permanent move.

Despite this, the two clubs are now once again in negotiations with a view to Felix potentially making a sensational return to the capital.

During his time with Chelsea, the forward scored four goals in 20 games across all competitions.
