Chelsea will be hoping to end a dismal run of form when they travel to the south coast to face Bournemouth on Saturday afternoon.

Since taking charge of the club in an interim managerial role last month, former Blues midfielder Frank Lampard has so far failed to oversee a victory.

The west London outfit have so far lost all six games since Lampard returned to the club, and they are without a win in eight matches across all competitions.

This summer looks set to be one of significant change at Stamford Bridge, with the club set to sell a number of players as they look to balance the books after a year of huge spending.

Since taking charge of the club last summer, owner Todd Boehly has spent more than £500 million on 16 new signings.

Now, though, it appears that the club could be looking to add another striker to their squad.

As per Football Insider, The Blues are considering a move for Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez.

Martinez is said to be a target for both Man United and Chelsea

The Argentina international is believed to be a target for rivals Manchester United, who are also in the market for a new striker this summer and are considering Martinez as a cheaper alternative to Harry Kane.

Martinez, 25, joined the Serie A side from Racing Club in 2018 and has since made 229 appearances for his current employers.

In that time, he has netted 97 goals and provided 33 assists across all competitions.

Attack has been a problem area for Chelsea this season, with only four teams having scored fewer than the 31 goals that The Blues have managed so far.

They are therefore looking for a new striker, and the report suggests that Martinez will be available for around £70 million during the upcoming summer transfer window.

At present, Chelsea forward Romelu Lukaku is on loan at Inter, but the Belgian’s future remains extremely uncertain as he nears the expiry of his season-long spell in Milan.
