Chelsea have reportedly joined the race to sign England striker Saido Berahino.

The defending Premier League champions, who lie just three points above the bottom three after their opening 12 fixtures, have emerged as contenders to sign the West Brom star alongside London rivals Tottenham.

The 22-year-old, who was called into the Three Lions’ senior squad this time last year, has scored three Premier League goals in 10 appearances so far this season for the Baggies.

It is understood that Blues boss Jose Mourinho is considering a £20m move for the West Brom ace, who found the back of the net 20 times last term in all competitions.

With Radamel Falcao set for an early departure from Stamford Bridge following his disappointing loan spell from AS Monaco, Chelsea are thought to be prepared to go head-to-head with Spurs for Berahino’s services during the January transfer window.

If u ask me quite frankly, I would say categorically Seido isn’t what chelsea needs now at the moment… I feel foster can still delivery the goods, I think Falcow can leave though, if we must include any new striker it should be the likes of Charlie Austin. He’s first of all a chelsea fan, and so there is no questioning his loyalty. Then we need to strengthen our defence line and a very rugged holding midfielder and one creative midfielder then the team would be ready to compete…
