Chelsea are reportedly lining-up a surprise move for Real Madrid playmaker Isco.

The Premier League champions, who have only managed to collect eight points from their opening eight games, are understood to be readying a January move for the Spain international.

The 23-year-old, who has earned 12 international caps, has assisted four goals in nine appearances in all competitions for former Chelsea boss Rafael Benitez’s Madrid this season.

Current Blues manager Jose Mourinho is said to be unhappy with the club’s crop of creative players this term, with the likes of Oscar, Cesc Fabregas and Eden Hazard all failing to rediscover their form from last term.
