Chelsea will face Championship leaders Leicester City in the FA Cup quarter-finals after beating Leeds United on Wednesday evening.

The visitors took a surprise lead at Stamford Bridge but were soon pegged back by Nicolas Jackson, before Mykhaylo Mudryk put the visitors ahead before the break.

Leeds then equalised in the second half and looked to have taken the tie to extra-time, before midfielder Conor Gallagher’s well taken goal in the final minute of normal time ensured their progression to the last eight of the competition.

Manager Mauricio Pochettino will be pleased with his side’s victory, but the game may have also given Chelsea the chance to watch one of their transfer targets in action.

As per TEAMtalk, the Blues are eyeing a shock move for Leeds forward Crysencio Summerville.

Summerville’s impressive performances have attracted interest from Chelsea

The 22-year-old was substituted on at Stamford Bridge for his 34th appearance of the season across all competitions.

He has scored 16 goals in total, including 15 in the Championship to propel the Whites into the battle for promotion.

Summerville joined Leeds from the academy of Dutch side Feyenoord in 2020 and has played 74 times for the club across all competitions.

It is claimed that Chelsea have scouted Summerville on several occasions so far this season, and the London club are believed to be confident about their chances of landing the Dutchman.

Chelsea may face stiff competition for Summerville’s signature, though, with several top sides across Europe – including Liverpool – said to have shown an interest in the former Netherlands under-21 international.

Summerville’s current deal is set to expire in 2026, but a £20 million release clause is said to no longer be active.

Chelsea have signed a number of attacking players over the past two years and may have to offload some stars before making further signings this summer.
