Chelsea’s run of three consecutive victories came to an end on Saturday as they were held to a 2-2 draw by struggling Everton.

The Blues had gone ahead through Joao Felix before Abdoulaye Doucoure drew The Toffees level at Stamford Bridge.

Shortly after, the hosts were back in front courtesy of a Kai Havertz penalty, but they couldn’t hold on to their lead and Ellis Simms’ first ever goal for Everton secured a point for the Merseyside outfit.

Questions were asked of goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga’s performance, with many people suggesting that the Spaniard should have saved Simms’ late strike.

Arrizabalaga has been criticised throughout his time in west London, and it appears that Chelsea could look to sign a new ‘keeper this summer.

According to Football Insider, The Blues will likely face competition from the likes of Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur if they do delve into the market.

The report claims that Chelsea have decided to look for a new goalkeeper this summer, with Edouard Mendy likely to move on.

Illan Meslier is said to be attracting interest from clubs including Chelsea and Manchester United

The Senegal international made an instant impact when he joined Chelsea back in 2020, but his form has since dipped and he hasn’t featured this year due to injury.

The 31-year-old is said to be desperate to play regularly and he, along with the club, have decided that the best course of action is for him to depart.

With that in mind, Chelsea will be looking for a new ‘keeper this summer, and the likes of David Raya, Jan Oblak and Borussia Dortmund’s Gregor Kobel could all be of interest.

If they do move for any of those players, though, Chelsea will almost certainly face stiff competition, most likely from Tottenham who have their own concerns in the goalkeeping department.

Club captain Hugo Lloris’ form has been heavily criticised in recent months and it appears increasingly likely that Spurs will look to replace him this summer.

The Lilywhites are also believed to be keeping tabs on Brentford star Raya, who is set to be out of contract next summer.

Leeds United’s Illan Meslier is another played said to be of interest to The Blues, but both Spurs and The Red Devils are also said to have previously shown interest.

United’s need for a new ‘keeper stems from the fact that current first choice David de Gea is yet to agree a contract extension, with his current deal due to expire this summer.
