This summer could be an exciting one for Chelsea fans, with a number of Europe’s biggest names being linked with a move to Stamford Bridge as Thomas Tuchel looks to build a team capable of defending their Champions League title.

Erling Braut Haaland, Romelu Lukaku and Harry Kane are among the big names being linked with the Blues, while Achraf Hakimi, Sergio Ramos and Gianluigi Donnarumma had also previously been connected.

With so many incomings on the cards, it is likely that Chelsea will have to shift a number of squad players on, with Victor Moses, Danny Drinkwater and Ross Barkley all prime candidates to move on.

Giroud failed to score at Euro 2020.

Meanwhile, with a striker looking almost certain to arrive at Stamford Bridge this summer, it appears that one of the club’s current forwards is on his way out.

According to the Evening Standard, fan favourite Olivier Giroud is close to completing a switch to Italian side AC Milan.

The 34-year-old signed a 12-month contract extension in April, but is now expected to join the Serie A side for a fee of around £1.5 million.

The France international, who was part of their 2018 World Cup winning squad as well as featuring at this summer’s Euros, will sign a two-year deal.

Giroud scored 39 goals for the Blues since arriving in 2018 from Arsenal, winning a Champions League, Europa League and FA Cup during his time in West London.

Tuchel was uncertain with his striking options last term, with Timo Werner struggling for form and Tammy Abraham seemingly out of favour despite being the club’s top scorer during the first half of the season.

It appears that the German will now recruit reinforcements up front in order to challenge for the Premier League title next term.
