Chelsea are reportedly trying to lure N’Golo Kante’s former teammate and Algeria international ace Riyad Mahrez to Stamford Bridge this summer too, according to the Express.

The Premier League side, who could only finish tenth in the English top-flight standings last term following a catastrophic defence of their 2014/15 title, have already sealed the £32m signing of Leicester City’s defensive midfielder Kante and are now pursuing winger Mahrez’s services.

The 25-year-old, who has 24 international caps for his country, scored a remarkable 18 goals and provided 10 assists in 39 appearances in all competitions for the title-winning Foxes last season.

Mahrez, who arrived at the King Power Stadium back in 2014 following his £350,000 switch from French outfit Le Havre, is understood to be on the verge of rejecting a new deal worth £100,000-a-week from Leicester.

However new Blues boss Antonio Conte is set to face stiff competition from Premier League rivals Arsenal and La Liga giants FC Barcelona for the Algerian forward.
