Chelsea will be hoping to continue their near-perfect start to the season on Tuesday evening, as they host Juventus in a crucial match in the Champions League.

The Blues are top of the Premier League table and require just a point to secure progression through to the knockout stages of the Champions League, as they bid to defend their European crown.

The game against the Serie A side will go a long way towards determining who will top Group H and, in theory, set up a favourable last 16 tie.

Despite their defeat to Juventus in Turin earlier this season, Chelsea supporters will be quietly confident of securing a result against the Italian giants, who will be without a number of key players for the match.

Chelsea, meanwhile, have been in sensational form of late, with a 3-0 win away at Leicester City on Saturday the latest in a remarkable run of results that have seen them rise to top the table after 12 games.

Now, there could be more good news for Blues fans, with one of the club’s most important players set to sign a new long-term deal with the club.

As per Football Insider, Mason Mount is set to put pen to paper on a new deal with the club, despite having three years remaining on his current contract.

Mason Mount has become a key player for club and country.

The 22-year-old had been linked with a number of other clubs in recent weeks as speculation grew that he was unhappy with the club, but the report states that the England international will now agree to an extension.

Mount was integral to the Blues’ Champions League triumph last term, and has established himself as a fan favourite amongst the Stamford Bridge faithful.

The player, who is one of a number of academy graduates who are now first team regulars at the club, is valued by his current employers at approximately £70 million.

The former Derby County loanee has now played 121 matches for the club, scoring 20 goals and registering a further 17 assists.

He has established himself as an integral part of Thomas Tuchel’s squad, and recently netted his first senior hat-trick in Chelsea’s 7-0 thrashing of Norwich City last month.

Chelsea are still facing the prospect of losing a number of firs team stars next summer, as Andreas Christensen, Thiago Silva, Antonio Rudiger and club captain Cesar Azpilicueta are all set to be out of contract at the end of the season.
