Chelsea have not given up on signing Saul Niguez and are ‘actively working’ on a deal, according to the Telegraph. 

The deal seemed to be off just 48 hours ago, but Niguez to Chelsea could still be on the cards on Transfer Deadline Day.

The Telegraph have reported that the player himself is the reason the deal is back on the table, as he is keen to push for a move Atletico Madrid.

Saul has been a one-club man so far in his career.

A player which seems to have been around for a long, long time is only 26-years-old and has plenty of years in football left in him.

The midfielder has made over 230 appearances for the La Liga side and 19 caps for Spain, with ample experience of football at elite level.

If the deal is to be done today, it is more likely to be a loan move as Thomas Tuchel looks to strengthen his already impressive squad.
