Chelsea have been one of the busiest Premier League clubs so far during the transfer window.

The Blues have signed Christopher Nkunku and Nicolas Jackson, as well as allowing no fewer than eight first team players to leave Stamford Bridge.

The likes of Cesar Azpilicueta, Mason Mount, Kai Havertz and Mateo Kovacic have all departed, but it appears that the Blues are still hoping to bolster their squad before the transfer window shuts.

According to 90min, the Blues have held talks with French side Montpellier about a potential move for striker Elye Wahi.

The 20-year-old forward scored 19 goals in 33 Ligue 1 matches last term and his performances haven’t gone unnoticed.

It is claimed that, while Chelsea’s owners have held talks with their French counterparts, it is unclear whether the player would be a target for the Premier League side or fellow Ligue 1 outfit Strasbourg, which was recently acquired by the Blues’ owners.

Fellow Premier League clubs Bournemouth, Crystal Palace and Wolves are also said to be admirers of Wahi, while Italian size Lazio and German club Union Berlin have also shown interest.

Wahi’s tally of 19 league goals last season was enough to earn him seventh place in the goal scoring charts in the French top flight, and the Frenchman also notched six assists.

The attacker has been capped three times by France at under-21 level, scoring once.

In total, he has made 91 appearances for Montpellier across all competitions.

Chelsea’s chances of signing Wahi could depend on the future of Eintracht Frankfurt forward Randal Kolo Muani, who has been heavily linked with a move away from the German club.

If he does depart, the report claims that the Bundesliga side would be in pole position to secure a deal for Wahi.
