Chelsea will find out their Europa Conference League group stage opponents on Friday.

The Blues were beaten 2-1 by Swiss side Servette in the second leg of their play-off tie on Thursday, but progressed to the first stage of the competition with a 3-2 aggregate win.

Enzo Maresca has now won two and lost two of his four games in charge of the Blues, with a London derby against Crystal Palace next up on Sunday.

The West London outfit will likely be one of the Premier League’s busiest sides on deadline day, with the transfer window set to slam shut at 23:00 on Friday.

Now, it appears that Chelsea are hopeful of completing a marquee signing before the window closes.

As per Ben Jacobs, the Blues have informed Italian side Napoli that they are prepared to offer a loan deal with an obligation-to-buy clause for striker Victor Osimhen.

Osimhen faces an uncertain future in Naples with the transfer deadline fast approaching

The Nigerian has been linked with a move to Chelsea for much of the summer and is expected to leave Naples before Friday’s deadline, with Saudi side Al-Ahli also interested and said to have tabled a bid in the region of £57.2 million.

Jacobs claims that Chelsea are prepared to sign the 25-year-old on an initial loan, before being obliged to sign him permanently next summer.

Osimhen has been prolific for Napoli since joining from French side Lille four years ago.

He has since scored 76 goals in 133 games for the Italian side across all competitions, as well as providing 18 assists.

Chelsea have been one of the Premier League’s busiest clubs so far this summer, signing no fewer than ten players, but it appears that Maresca and those in charge of their recruitment are still keen to bolster the Italian manager’s squad.

Osimhen’s contract with the Serie A giants has less than two years remaining but, having been left out of the squad for both of their games so far this season, it appears that his time in Naples is coming to an end.
