Chelsea travel north to face rivals Liverpool in a crucial Premier League game on Wednesday evening.

Victory for the Reds at Anfield would move Jurgen Klopp’s side five points clear at the top of the table, while a win for the visitors could move them as high as seventh place.

With the January transfer window set to close on Thursday, Chelsea are yet to sign a single player so far this month, despite spending more than £1 billion over the past three windows.

Now, though, it appears that the West London outfit are in talks to offload one of their current players.

As per The Standard, Chelsea are in talks with French club Strasbourg over a potential loan move for midfielder Andrey Santos.

The Brazilian joined Chelsea from Vasco da Gama last year, and returned to his homeland on loan for the second half of last term.

Santos could leave Chelsea on deadline day

The 19-year-old returned to England last summer, and was loaned out to fellow Premier League side Nottingham Forest ahead of the current campaign but made just two appearances for Forest.

His only Premier League appearance for the club lasted just seven minutes, and the Brazilian hadn’t been included in a match day squad since the first week of November.

Chelsea made the decision to recall the player from The City Ground earlier this month, and the report claims that he could now join Strasbourg on loan for the remainder of the current season.

The French side are a sister club of the Blues, having been purchased by Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital’s BlueCo.

Fellow Chelsea youngster, Angelo Gabriel, is also currently on loan at Strasbourg and has established himself in Patrick Vieira’s first team squad.
