Chelsea go into the international break in third place in the Premier League after victory against Wolves on Saturday.

Malo Gusto, Joao Pedro and Pedro Neto all netted as Enzo Maresca’s side cruised to victory against the top flight’s bottom side at Stamford Bridge.

The result temporarily moved the Blues up to second place in the Premier League standings, before Manchester City leapfrogged them courtesy of a win against reigning champions Liverpool on Sunday.

Winger Alejandro Garnacho – who joined Chelsea from Manchester United over the summer – once again impressed on Saturday, providing two assists.

Now, though, it appears that the West London giants are hoping to sign a new winger from La Liga.

According to Indykalia News, Chelsea are in direct discussions with Real Madrid about a potential January move to sign Rodrygo.

The report claims that the Blues are in talks with the La Liga leaders about an audacious move for the Brazil international, who has fallen somewhat out of favour since Xabi Alonso took charge of the Spanish side over the summer.

Rodrygo, 24, has established himself as one of Real’s most important players since joining the club from Santos in 2019.

In total he has played more than 280 times for the club, scoring 68 goals and providing 83 assists.

The Brazilian has started just two league games so far this term, though, and was heavily linked with a move to Arsenal over the summer.

According to the report, Chelsea are willing to agree a deal to sign the winger either in January or next summer, with the Brazilian’s current contract with Real Madrid set to expire in the summer of 2028.

Chelsea have signed a number of wide attacking players over the past 18 months, including Garnacho, Neto, Estevao Willian and Jamie Gittens.
