Chelsea are reportedly already in negotiations to sign Uruguay international Edinson Cavani this summer, according to TODOmercadoWeb.
The defending Premier League champions, who currently sit 12th in the standings respectively after last weekend’s 5-1 thumping of lowly Newcastle United, are said to be ready to offer the Paris Saint-Germain forward a huge contract offer in order to tempt him to Stamford Bridge this summer.
The 29-year-old, who has 78 international caps for his country, has scored an impressive 15 goals in 35 appearances in all competitions for the defending Ligue 1 champions so far this season.
Cavani, who arrived in the French capital back in July 2013 from Serie A outfit Napoli for a reported fee of €64.5m, is said to be reconsidering his long-term future at the club past the conclusion of the 2015-16 campaign.
The striker came on as a substitute and bagged the winner for Laurent Blanc’s men in PSG’s 2-1 victory over Guus Hiddink’s Blues in the UEFA Champions League last-16 first-leg tie inside the Parc des Princes earlier this week.
