Chelsea recorded the first Premier League win of the Enzo Maresca era with an impressive 6-2 victory at Wolves on Sunday.

The Blues went ahead inside two minutes through Nicolas Jackson, before Matheus Cunha drew the hosts level at Molineux.

Cole Palmer then restored the visitors’ lead, before new signing Jorgen Strand Larsen made it 2-2 in first-half added time.

After the break, winger Noni Madueke scored a hat-trick inside 15 minutes to put the Blues in a commanding position, before substitute Joao Felix added a sixth on his second debut for the club.

The result will be welcomed by Maresca, who takes his side to Switzerland this week for the second leg of their UEFA Conference League play-off tie against Servette.

In the meantime, though, it appears that Chelsea are plotting a sensational swap move with rivals Manchester United.

As reported by The Telegraph, the Blues are keen on United winger Jadon Sancho and could table a swap deal for the player that would see Raheem Sterling move to Old Trafford.

Sterling is likely to leave Chelsea before the transfer window closes

Sancho spent the second half of last season on loan at Borussia Dortmund after falling out with manager Erik ten Hag and, despite being reintroduced into the first team squad, he hasn’t been involved in either of the Red Devils’ matches so far this season.

The Englishman has attracted interest from Juventus as well as Chelsea, with United aware of the Blues’ admiration of the player.

Sterling, meanwhile, has fallen out of favour at Stamford Bridge since Maresca’s arrival, with the Italian admitting that he is not part of his plans for the campaign.

With that in mind, Chelsea could attempt to agree a sensational swap deal with their rivals, although it remains to be seen whether or not the Manchester outfit are interested in signing Sterling.

Juventus are also said to have shown interest in Sterling, although a permanent move for the player is unlikely at this late stage in the window and he could therefore depart on loan instead, the report suggests.

Sancho and Sterling were at one stage England teammates, but they have both fallen out of the national side squad over the past 18 months.
