Newcastle face competition from Chelsea for Willy Caballero.

According to a report in The Chronicle the Premier League champions are keen to bring in the experienced keeper as a replacement for Asmir Begovic who has joined Bournemouth.

While Caballero would likely be first choice keeper at Newcastle he could probably get a bigger wage with Chelsea as back up to Thibaut Courtois.

Rafa Benitez has been unimpressed by the range of keepers that he has at Newcastle and is keen to bring in the 35-year-old who was freed by Pep Guardiola at the end of the season.

With more than a decade of La Liga experience to his name and 16 Premier League appearances under his belt last season the Argentinian could provide a short term solution to a problem position.

Pepe Reina has been linked with a move to join up with his old Liverpool boss but with a year left on his Napoli deal a transfer fee would be involved.
