Chelsea are reportedly ready to make a move for Chile international star Alexis Sanchez, if the forward fails to resolve his contract situation, according to the Mirror.

The Premier League side, who currently sit top of the English top-flight table following their impressive 3-1 victory at Manchester City last weekend, have been linked with the Arsenal winger ahead of the forthcoming January transfer window.

The 27-year-old, who has 106 international caps for his country, has scored 13 goals and provided 10 assists in 20 appearances in all competitions for the Gunners so far this season.

Sanchez, who arrived at the Emirates Stadium back in July 2014 following his reported £31.7m switch from La Liga giants FC Barcelona, earns around £130,000-a-week under manager Arsene Wenger, although his current deal expires in the summer of 2018.

The report suggests that Blues boss Antonio Conte is among a number of managers keeping close tabs on the Chilean’s contract stand-off at Arsenal, and is set to make a move should he state he will not be signing a new deal with the Gunners.
