Liverpool and West Ham United could join Premier League rivals Watford in the hunt to sign defender Nathan Ake this summer, according to the Daily Star.

The Hornets, who currently sit 14th in the standings respectively after their latest defeat to the hands of Stoke City at the weekend, would like to strike a permanent deal with his parent club Chelsea at the end of the current 2015-16 campaign following his impressive displays whilst on loan this term.

The 21-year-old; who has represented the Netherlands’ Under-21 squad 18 times, has scored one goal in 23 appearances in all competitions so far for Quique Sanchez Flores’ side this season, netting in their impressive 3-0 win over Liverpool back in December.

However his admirable performances at Vicarage Road this campaign has now alerted the likes of the Reds and West Ham, with both clubs reportedly in the market for a new left-back.

Ake, who originally joined Watford on a season-long loan deal back in August 2015, has been with defending Premier League champions Chelsea since joining the Blues’ youth academy ranks as a 15-year-old.

The report suggests incoming boss Antonio Conte will have the final say on Ake’s future at the club, with Chelsea ready to demand around £10m for his services this summer.
