Chelsea are reportedly interested in snapping up Brazil international defender Marquinhos this summer, according to the Daily Mirror.

The defending Premier League champions, who currently sit tenth in the standings having gone unbeaten since interim boss Guus Hiddink’s return to Stamford Bridge back in December, have been long-term admirers of the Paris Saint-Germain star.

The 21-year-old, who has nine international caps for his country, has made 31 appearances for the Ligue 1 champions in all competitions so far this season, including finding the back of the net once against Saint-Etienne.

Marquinhos, who joined Laurent Blanc’s side from AS Roma back in July 2013 for a reported fee of €31.4m, could leave the French outfit come the end of the current 2015-16 campaign having failed to get ahead of fellow centre-halves David Luiz and Thiago Silva in the first-team pecking order.

Chelsea are set to let captain John Terry leave the club this summer having failed to offer the veteran a new deal.
