Chelsea line-up transfer swoop for West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice if N’Golo Kante is sold, according to Daily Mirror.

Being the humble person he is, reports suggest Kante is not pushing to leave Chelsea, but Real Madrid are interested in acquiring the midfielder ahead of Paul Pogba.

If this were to be the case, reports suggest Chelsea eye Hammers midfielder Rice as the perfect successor for their holding midfield man.

Kante is the unsung hero of the Chelsea team.

Manager Frank Lampard will do all he can to keep his World Cup winner at the club, and will be desperate to get his dynamic midfielder on the pitch, with injuries allowing him to only make 16 Premier League starts this campaign.

Hammers boss David Moyes will be struggling to keep hold of his England international if Chelsea come calling. The midfielder is very good friends with Mason Mount and will relish the step-up to European football.

The comparisons between the two are quite clear. Both players are natural runners, who break up play and keep their football very simple.
