The ongoing Euro 2020 tournament is providing the perfect shop window for both players and clubs alike, with stars from across the continent able to showcase their abilities for the world to see.

Netherlands wing-back Denzel Dumfries has certainly done exactly that, scoring in each of their opening two games to help the qualify for the last 16 with a game to spare.

A number of other players have also impressed, and Premier League clubs will undoubtedly be queueing up to discuss potential deals when the window officially opens at the start of July.

Chelsea, however, appear to be prioritising one player who is not in action at Euro 2020, and hope that quick and easy negotiations for the player could help them out in the long run.

According to the Daily Star, the club are keen on Erling Braut Haaland and hope to build a positive relationship with the German side, in order to improve their chances of also signing Jude Bellingham.

Bellingham is the youngest player in Euros history

Haaland, whose national side Norway failed to qualify for the tournament, has been heavily linked with both Chelsea and Manchester City but a deal could be hard to agree on as Dortmund are unlikely to accept any offers lower than £100 million.

Bellingham, meanwhile, became the youngest player ever to make an appearance at a European Championships when he was introduced as a second half substitute in England’s Group E opener against Croatia last Sunday.

According to the article, Chelsea are hopeful of agreeing a deal for Haaland this summer, despite an £80 million release clause coming into action next summer, and hope to build a good relationship with their German counterparts.

Blues boss Thomas Tuchel is apparently keen on bolstering his squad ahead of next season, with the European Champions looking to defend their European title and win the Premier League for the first time since 2017.

Both players have already attracted numerous potential suitors and the Blues will undoubtedly face stiff competition for the signatures of both young stars.
