Chelsea have reportedly turned their attentions to signing Ghana international defender Kwadwo Asamoah, according to The Sun.

The defending Premier League champions, who were knocked out of the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday night following their 3-0 defeat at FC Barcelona, have been linked with the Juventus full-back this summer.

The 29-year-old, who has 69 international caps for his country, has provided one assist in 19 appearances in all competitions for the Serie A giants so far this season.

Asamoah, who joined Juve back in July 2012 from Udinese, has scored five goals in 149 games for the Italian top-flight leaders, playing on the left-side of midfield and at left-back.

Fellow full-back and Juventus team mate Alex Sandro was a top transfer target for Chelsea last summer, but the report now claims The Blues are eyeing a free transfer for Asamoah, who is out of contract this June.

However, Premier League club Chelsea could face stiff competition from the likes of Napoli, Inter Milan and Galatasaray for the Ghanaian’s services.
