Chelsea have reportedly already made an early approach over the availability of France international midfielder N’Golo Kante this summer, according to Get French Football News (via the Metro).

The defending Premier League champions, who currently sit tenth in the English top-flight standings following last weekend’s 2-2 draw against West Ham United at Stamford Bridge, are thought to be closely monitoring the Leicester City star’s development this campaign.

The 24-year-old, who made his senior international debut against the Netherlands earlier this week and could feature for France at Euro 2016 later this year, has scored one goal and provided three assists in 33 appearances in all competitions for Claudio Ranieri’s Foxes so far this season.

Kante, who arrived at the King Power Stadium from French side Caen back in August 2015 for a reported fee of around £5.6m, has been widely regarded as one of the Premier League’s stand out performers this term following Leicester’s remarkable rise to the top of the table.

The report suggests that the Blues have made discreet enquiries about the defensive midfielder’s services, whilst Arsenal are also believed to be interested too.
