Manchester City face Liverpool in a potentially crucial game at The Etihad on Saturday.

The Citizens currently sit top of the Premier League table, just a point ahead of second-placed Liverpool.

Pep Guardiola will be keen to ensure his side are victorious over the Reds in order to give them the best possible chance of defending their top flight title this season.

In the meantime, it appears that City have been using the international break to scout potential transfer targets.

According to 90min, the Citizens are one of a quartet of Premier League clubs to have scoured Napoli star Khvicha Kvaratskhelia whilst on international duty.

The report claims that City, as well as Manchester United, Chelsea and Newcastle United, all scouted the attacker during Georgia’s 3-1 defeat against Spain on Sunday.

Kvaratskhelia has attracted interest from a number of Premier League clubs

Kvaratskhelia, 22, enjoyed a fine breakthrough season for Napoli last term and has continued to impress this season, despite the Italian side’s struggles.

In total, the winger has scored 17 goals and provided 22 assists in 58 matches for Napoli across all competitions, having joined the club from Dinamo Batumi last summer.

The forward has also been capped 28 times by his country at senior level, and scored twice as Georgia drew 2-2 against Scotland last week before scoring in the defeat to Spain, attended by Premier League scouts.

His current contract is set to run until the summer of 2027, but Napoli will likely receive significant interest in the player during both the upcoming January transfer window and next summer.

It is also claimed, though, that the player is currently in talks with his employers over a 12-month extension to his current deal, which would earn him a significant pay rise.
