Chelsea are reportedly weighing up a move to sign free agent Martin Caceres, according to Calciomercatoweb.

The Premier League side, who currently boast a 100 per cent record in the English top-flight so far this term after three successive league wins over West Ham United, Watford and Burnley respectively, could propose an offer for the former FC Barcelona and Sevilla defender.

The 29-year-old, who has 68 international caps for his native Uruguay, is a free agent after leaving Juventus towards the end of the previous 2015/16 campaign.

Caceres, who is also said to be attracting interest from Serie A outfits Inter Milan and AS Roma, was restricted to just nine appearances in all competitions for the defending champions last season.

However, new Blues boss Antonio Conte is considering offering the Uruguayan a chance at Stamford Bridge, having worked with the centre-half during his time in Turin.

Despite re-signing Brazil international David Luiz for £30m from Paris Saint-Germain on deadline day, the Italian manager could look towards recruiting Caceres considering his ability to also operate at full-back.

The defender was part of the Juve side that won five consecutive Serie A titles (2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016).
