Chelsea have reportedly taken an interest in Manchester United target and Paris Saint-Germain defender Gregory van der Wiel.

The Premier League champions are understood to want to reinforce their right-back options before the close of the transfer window, despite Serbia defender Branislav Ivanovic doing a sterling job for manager Jose Mourinho.

The 27-year-old, who joined PSG from Ajax back in 2012, scored one goal in 41 appearances in all competitions for Laurent Blanc’s Ligue 1 champions last season.

The Netherlands full-back, who has 44 international caps, has been linked with a move to Old Trafford all summer; although it is thought that the arrival of Torino’s Matteo Darmian has ended United’s pursuit.

Blues boss Mourinho has only made two major signings so far, with goalkeeper Asmir Begovic and striker Radamel Falcao arriving at Stamford Bridge, although a move for Van Der Wiel could be on the cards.
